The Folsom Police Department is the latest Sacramento area police department to announce that it will conduct a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint on Friday. The Folsom checkpoint will operate from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. at an undisclosed location in the city. The Rancho Cordova and Sacramento police departments will be conducting similar checkpoints in their cities on Friday. Click here.

The Sacramento Police Department will conduct a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint on Friday, January 1, 2010, in the downtown area of the City. Traffic flowing through the checkpoint will be contacted by uniformed officers, who will be checking for alcohol and/or drug-impaired drivers. On December 19, 2009, beginning at 8 PM, the Elk Grove Police Department will join law enforcement across the state as part of California’s 18 Day Holiday DUI Crackdown Campaign with law enforcement agencies deploying 300 DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints statewide. Funding for the special enforcement campaign, December 16, 2009 through January 3, 2010 comes from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
